COMMUNICATIONS LIAISON - INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL (ICTC)

May 2017- Present

While with ICTC I acted as an assistant to the Director of Strategic Outreach. I created feedback forms, social media content for the launch of a new website feature, and graphic design of visuals for a ICT education promotional campaign.

STUDENT MARKETING ASSISTANT/ TOUR GUIDE- NIPISSING UNIVERSITY

November 2013 - April 2017

My position was to conduct campus tours daily, assist with large volume mail outs and data entry and other projects, assist with social media initiatives in the Marketing Department, reception duties for Student Recruitment when required, provide support to the Student Recruitment Department with on campus events and any other assigned responsibilities to support the Student Recruitment Department.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE EXPERT- CIRQUE DU SOLEIL TOTEM

July – August 2013

My position was interchanging while on the job. I had the opportunity to be a cashier, bartender, and barker. As a cashier we were taking orders and ringing them through the POS. Bartenders made and mixed drinks at the bars. Barking involved walking around selling to the customers from what you had in a float.

CASHIER/ SALES CLERK-ZELLERS DEPARTMENT STORE

November 2011 – August 2012

My position was Cashier, and Sales Clerk when needed. I was responsible to handle payments in both cash and credit cards, processing sales at the cash register and maintaining high level of customer service throughout the transaction. I handled each transaction accurately and efficiently in accordance to company policies.

PRESIDENT/CO-FOUNDER

June 2015 - April 2017

I am the Co-Founder and President of Nipissing University’s first sorority, Alpha Gamma Phi. I wrote the full constitution and bi-laws, as well as developed and implemented the brand and marketing plan for the organization. I successfully recruited 33 active members, and directed the executive council in planning and organizing many events throughout the academic year.

MARKETING CONSULTANT

January - April 2017

For this project I worked with a team and determined the marketing needs of our client- Amelia Rising Sexual Assault Centre of Nipissing. We performed an environmental analysis of the organization and the provided marketing recommendations along with a comprehensive implementation plan that if followed should improve marketing operations and programing. Once the analysis was completed and our findings were in order we presented our recommendation in a professional manner which was well received by the client.

SOCIAL MEDIA CONSULTANT

July 2016 - April 2017

I worked with the owner and founder of Red's Den for Men Barbershop and developed a new Facebook Page for the small business, as well as a training program to insure she had full understanding of each platform. I created graphics for both the preexisting Instagram page and the new Facebook Page to maximize impressions and lead a Facebook campaign that helped create an increase in foot traffic by 10% within five months of the launch of the Facebook Page.

I am working to develop a strong foundation for planning events and looking to acquire skills and knowledge in sponsorship, event logistics, risk management, budgeting, programming, entertainment, and people management. I am currently working with a team to plan and execute a fundraising event.

In the marketing stream, I developed the critical thinking skills needed to make good managerial decisions in a competitive marketplace. I have also developed fundamental marketing concepts, research methods, market analysis, and strategies related to consumer behaviour, brand management, and business-to-business marketing. I have also grasped concepts about marketing communication, promotions, merchandising, public relations, packaging, as well as, direct and digital marketing.

CANTERBURY HIGH SCHOOL

2009-2012

During my four years of high school I gained skills in vocal music, as well as earning a specialized high skills major in Business. I participated in weekly choir rehearsals, as well as many performances in various locations around Ottawa. I also participated in The Global Enterprise Challange in 2011 representing Canada developing an exhibit that would show case what technologies NASA had to offer.
